Το Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας προσφέρει Διδακτορικό Πρόγραμμα στην Επιστήμη της Άσκησης και τη Φυσική Αγωγή που οδηγεί σε Διδακτορικό τίτλο.
Το πρόγραμμα είναι σχεδιασμένο να προσφέρει επιστημονική γνώση στο ανώτατο επίπεδο και να προετοιμάσει τους φοιτητές για επαγγελματική σταδιοδρομία στο χώρο της τριτοβάθμιας διδασκαλίας, στην επιστημονική έρευνα και στο γνωστικό πεδίο της άσκησης αλλά και της φυσικής αγωγής.
Στόχος του διδακτορικού προγράμματος είναι να προετοιμάσει έμπειρους επιστήμονες με απώτερο σκοπό να διεξάγουν έρευνα αιχμής, να προτείνουν πρωτοποριακές έρευνες και πρακτικά εφαρμόσιμες λύσεις και να κατακτήσουν ηγετικές θέσεις στο χώρο της άσκησης και της φυσικής αγωγής καθώς και στην ευρύτερη αθλητική βιομηχανία.
Το πρόγραμμα κατευθύνει τους φοιτητές στη χρήση των πλέον σύγχρονων διεπιστημονικών μεθόδων έρευνας για την παραγωγή και εφαρμογή γνώσης σε θεωρητικό και πρακτικό επίπεδο. Έχει σχεδιαστεί για να παρέχει στους φοιτητές την ευκαιρία να ακολουθήσουν διδακτορικές σπουδές σε τομείς που θα αυξήσουν τις γνώσεις μας για την ανθρώπινη κίνηση, την ανάπτυξη θεωριών και μεθόδων για τη διατήρηση της υγείας, καθώς και τη βελτίωση της γνώσης για την αποτελεσματικότερη εφαρμογή της φυσικής αγωγής στην εκπαίδευση.
Το πρόγραμμα είναι σχεδιασμένο κατά τέτοιον τρόπο ώστε να δίνει τη δυνατότητα ανάπτυξης στους φοιτητές σε τομείς ιδιαίτερου ενδιαφέροντος τους, έχοντας ως υπόβαθρο τη γνώση ή/και την εμπειρία τους στην επιστήμη της άσκησης και τη φυσική αγωγή.

Students come to UNIC from around the world, blending a diverse range of academic backgrounds, experiences, interests, talents and cultural heritage.
Admission to our University is granted under different categories, depending on the student’s qualifications and educational objectives.
Once accepted on the program, students are assigned three supervisors, one main and two secondary, who guide them throughout their studies. There are frequent progress reports to ensure students receive the guidance they need and that they are on track. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with their supervisors at regular intervals. After the course(s) is/are completed successfully, students prepare a final research proposal, which is a detailed document of length 7.500-10.000 words that outlines their research plan, clearly showing theoretical contribution, and methodological approach suggested. When this is approved by the relevant committee, they proceed with their research and register for their thesis.
Starting dates for enrolling on the programs are Fall (October) and Spring (February). The application deadlines are August 31st for Fall entry and January 5th for Spring entry. Specific positions available (by department and by faculty member) are announced on the website, and interested students are advised to check the website regularly for possible new announced positions. To be considered for entry on the doctoral programs the applicant should complete an online application form and submits an initial research proposal. The research proposal is a significant part of the application.

The tuition of €15,000 shown above represents total tuition for 3 years. For each additional academic year
(maximum 3 years), the tuition is €2,000 per year.
