Methodology of Byzantine chanting and preparation for professional chanting in the Christian Orthodox Church.
Prospects
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will:

Be familiar with the various evolutionary stages of Byzantine paraphrasing and will be able to study representative Byzantine hymns and troparia

They will be familiar with the methodology of the palaeographical study, being able to find sources, contrast them, make metaphors on the pentagram and sing the structural phonemes of the Old Paraphrastic and the corresponding explanations in the New Method.
Program Details
The course is an introduction to the world of Byzantine musical palaeography, combined with the musicological analysis of selected representative pieces of the Byzantine and post-Byzantine periods.
