The University of Limassol is a progression of the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM), a renowned business school operating in Cyprus since 1990 when it was founded as a Private School of Higher Education by a group of leading executives of the Cypriot economy and renowned academics from leading Universities overseas.
Hundreds of internationally renowned scientists from foreign Universities and prominent Cypriot academics have taught at CIIM. In the 33 years of operation of CIIM, about 3,000 Cypriot and international students have studied in the 10 postgraduate programs. Many of our graduates received scholarships from the Republic of Cyprus and worldwide Governments, as well as Cypriot and overseas organizations and businesses. Over 500 CIIM graduates have filled and continue to fill management positions in the Public Service, Parastatal Organizations, Education Service, and Local Government. In contrast, many hundreds of graduates run organizations and businesses in Cyprus and abroad.
Awards & Recognitions
CIIM Innovations Ltd. has applied to the authorities to transform CIIM into a university. This application recognizes CIIM's successful operations as a postgraduate school with international recognition for over 30 years and its expansion into disciplines beyond business, such as computer science and technology, economics, and finance. After undergoing a thorough evaluation by CYQAA, CIIM has been upgraded to a university known as the University of Limassol (UoL). The university will commence its operations on September 1, 2023.
All programs offered by the University of Limassol are accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) based on the guidelines and standards provided by the European Network for Quality Assurance (ENQA).
The MBA program is also internationally accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD Global).
Our MSc in Financial Services is a Partner of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ® University Affiliation Program).
Resource Management and Organizational Behavior is endorsed by the Cyprus Human Resource Management Association (CyHRMA).
The CIIM Business School is a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).
Our MBA has had international accreditation from the Brussels-based EFMD Global-European Foundation for Management Development organization for the past 16 years, and it was the 1st accredited MBA in Cyprus launched in 1990.
The Technology & Innovation Schoolparticipates in the Blockchain Technology for Algorithmic Regulation & Compliance (BARAC) Research Consortium, consisting of UCL, the Bank of England, HM Treasury, Barclays Bank, RBS, HSBC, R3 Consortium, British Telecom, ATS, funded by the UK Research Council Visit webpage.

Our graduates receive, in addition to their degree, the Diploma Supplement (a model developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe, and UNESCO/CEPES). The Diploma Supplement (DS) is a document attached to a higher degree aiming at improving international transparency and facilitating the academic and professional recognition of qualifications.
Campus
The University of Limassol will operate in two campuses as CIIM does today: the current Nicosia CIIM campus, where all the graduate programs will continue, and the current Limassol CIIM campus, where the graduate programs will continue to be offered. The three undergraduate programs will be offered as of the coming academic year (2023-24) in a newly renovated building across the Lanition Gymnasium in Limassol.
The current Nicosia campus will be the headquarters of the University until mid-2026 when the new purpose-built campus in Palodia, Limassol, is completed and the university moves there, except for the Nicosia graduate programs, which will remain in the UoL’s Nicosia branch campus.

Schools
The University of Limassol will initially consist of three schools:
CIIM Business School will have one Department at the outset, namely the Department of Management.
Technology and Innovation School will also have one Department initially, the Department of Information Technology.
Economics and Finance School, with one Department to start with, the Department of Economics and Finance.
