Overview

About us

The University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn was created from bold plans and dreams about a University that would house representatives of various science disciplines educating students ready to change the reality of their region and country. These desires motivated us to look for common values - what unites us, not what divides us.
The tree, a symbol of durability and growth, included in the University's emblem, reminds us that UWM respects tradition and is ready for constant changes. The University's roots draw from the experience of many academic centers important for the history of the region, primarily the Olsztyn universities, the merger of which resulted in the establishment of UWM in 1999.
