The Leiden University World Ranking is one of the most important rankings of universities. In the 2023 edition, it included 1,194 universities from around the world. The ranking is created solely on the basis of bibliometric data available in the Web of Science database , taking into account the division into the following scientific areas: biomedical and health, natural and earthly, mathematical and IT, physical and engineering, and social and humanities.
In the 2023 ranking in the scientific impact category, in the area of natural and earth sciences, UWM was ranked 208th in the world, 59th in Europe and 3rd in Poland.
Ranking of Academic Universities of the Foundation "Perspectives"
In 2023, UWM was ranked 11th among universities and 41st among all universities.
In terms of educational conditions, UWM ranks 9th in Poland, prestige - 21st, and scientific potential - 8th.
It is also worth noting that since 2022, a new indicator has been introduced to the Academic University Ranking: "SDG - the university's contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals". When preparing the ranking, the presence of issues covered by these goals in the university's research and publications is assessed. In the case of our University, the SDG indicator was almost 85 points, which gives 9th place in the country.
